ALFRETON TOWN have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of current forward Jon Akinde’s younger brother, Sam.
Sam, also a striker, has signed non-contract forms at the Impact Arena ahead of tonight’s Skrill Premier trip to Southport.
The Reds went third in the league with a 3-1 win over Barnet on Saturday and have even more firepower in their squad after the addition of the 19-year-old former Ebbsfleet United youngster.
Meanwhile, to make room for another forward, boss Nicky Law has let striker Kristian Ramsey-Dickson leave the club. He has since joined Evo-Stik NPL Premier outfit Rushall Olympic.
Pics boss Neil Kitching said: “Kristian is a player that has been on my radar for at least twelve months now. We tried to sign him last season but he was doing so well at Sutton Coldfield Town, and then I tried again in the close season but he went on trial at League Two Chesterfield.
“Eventually he signed contract forms for Alfreton Town in the Skrill Premier division but things haven`t quite worked out the way that he expected.
“I have kept in touch and then after last Saturday`s games he agreed with Alfreton to mutually cancel his contract and I was delighted to sign him ahead of a couple of other clubs that had been chasing him.”
