KEVIN WILKIN has left Nuneaton Town to take over as boss of Skrill Premier rivals Wrexham on a two-year contract.
Wilkin led Boro’s return to Non-League‘s top-flight from Step 4, delivering three promotions in four seasons and the part-timers are challenging for a play-off spot this year.
Boro are currently fourth after a fantastic campaign but the lure of full-time football at the Racecourse was too much for the former Northampton player to resist.
Wilkin takes the reins permanently following caretaker Billy Barr’s departure yesterday with the Dragons in 17th after losing to Newport County in the play-off final last season.
Wrexham director Spencer Harris said: “This is an exciting time at the football club and we believe we are putting together a team that will bring us the success we all crave at Wrexham FC.”
Nuneaton CEO Ian Neale added: “Kevin’s role in the resurgence of the club cannot be understated and it has
been a privilege to work with him during the last six years.
“We have had both a fantastic friendship and a professional relationship in every sense of the word, working closely together with challenges both on and off the pitch.
“I am of course deeply disappointed to lose Kevin but following continued success his pedigree has become highly and deservedly desirable.”
