Odhiambo Brothers Reunited At Brackley Town

YOUR Laudrups, De Boers, Toures and Nevilles can move to one side, the Odhiambos are the newest footballing family in town!

took brotherly love to a whole new level last Saturday during goalless draw at Bradford Park Avenue in the Conference North.

Eric Odhiambo, recently signed after leaving Irish side Sligo Rovers, started alongside his older brother Eddie for the first time ever.

It might not have been the result the struggling Saints were after but for Eric it was the realisation of a lifelong dream.

“It was the first time we’ve ever played on the same pitch as each other so it was obviously very special,” Eric, whose other brother Anaclet plays for , told

“It’s something we’ve both always wanted to do but it’s just never seemed to have happened. There have been a couple of times when we could have played against each other in the reserves but for one reason or another we didn’t.

“Eddie is one of the main reasons I got involved in . When you’re young and see your older brother playing football you want to do the same and follow in their footsteps.

“After leaving Sligo he was on the phone non-stop asking me to come to Brackley and it worked in the end!”

Eric says he is focusing on getting games under his belt after leaving Sligo last month where he featured in their Europa League campaign.

He has also previously played for Denizlispor in Turkey and in Scotland for Inverness but the ex-Leicester City youngster is hoping for another crack at the professional game on these shores.

“We got through the first round in the Europa League for the first time ever and beat Rosenborg away but unfortunately lost the home leg,” he said.

“It was a great experience and I’ve been very lucky to play in a few different countries with different coaching methods and different ideas.

“I’m open to anything in terms of where I play but my family and friends are here and England is where I want to be.

“I’m just enjoying playing football at the moment as I was out for a while and being able to play with my brother is a big positive.”
