Ebbsfleet United have appointed Jamie Day as their new manager following the recent sacking of Steve Brown.
Day was player-boss at Vanarama Conference Welling but drops down a division to take over the Vanarama Conference South high-flyers.
The 35-year-old had been at the Wings for five years, leading them into the top tier of Non-League football in 2013 as they won the Conference South.
His last game in charge saw Welling beat Vanarama Conference strugglers AFC Telford United while the Fleet’s next game sees them take on Day’s former club Welling in the FA Trophy.
Day will not be in the dug out for that one as caretaker manager Daryl McMahon leads Ebbsfleet for the last time.
Day brings his assistant manager Barry Ashby and coach Dean Frost to Stonebridge Road as he looks to guide the Kent side back to the top tier of Non-League.
