ONE Southport fan was so happy with the club surviving in the Vanamara Conference Premier, he decided to streak and run the length of the pitch!
The Sandgrounders secured survival with a 1-0 win at Welling United on Saturday. And it sent one fan over the edge.
He hopped onto the Park View Road pitch, showed a good turn of pace and ran to the other side of the ground where he grabbed a cheeky selfie with Port goalkeeper Tony Thompson who is on loan from Rotherham.
Dressed only in pants, the excited fan then slipped trying to evade a steward before knocking the corner flag over. Not bad for an afternoon’s work!
