BETWAY have become the first bookmaker to post prices for the Vanarama National North and South divisions, with big spending Ebbsfleet and AFC Fylde the favourites.
The new season kicks off in less than a month and Dave Challinor’s Coasters have been tipped to better their second-place finish from last year and win the North. They’re 11/2 to be champions.
Solihull Moors, who have heavily recruited this summer, along with newly promoted FC United, relegated Alfreton and Boston United are joint second favourites at 9/1.
Tough seasons are expected for outsiders Gloucester City and Brackley Town who are both listed at 66/1 to win the league.
In the South, Daryl McMahon’s Ebbsfleet are heavy favourites to take the crown and earn promotion back to the top flight of Non-League at 3/1.
Ryman Premier play-off winners Margate and Havant & Waterlooville are next at 8/1 with beaten play-off finalists Whitehawk at 9/1.
Weston-super-Mare are listed at a massive 80/1 while Bath City and Hayes & Yeading are also rank outsiders at 50/1 each.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “AFC Fylde at 11/2 look like the team to beat following their strong first season in the National League North last year.
“The division is shaping up to be one the most competitive in the country and the likes of Solihull Moors, Telford and FC United of Manchester will be confident of being at the top end of the table come season’s end.
“Ebbsfleet United at 3/1 look like the class side in the National League South despite their dissappointing showing in the same division last year.
“The Fleet, with Daryl McMahon at the helm, are some way ahead of the likes of Margate and Havant and Waterlooville at this stage but the season will have many twists and turns in store.
“The likes of Whitehawk, Bath City, Dartford and even Oxford City will be quietly confident of being at the top end of the table come season’s end.”
