THE Football Association have announced that Whitehawk forward Sam Gargan has been suspended from all football activity for three months.
Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Gargan admitted to breaching FA Rule E8 in relation to betting.
Under new FA rules which were implemented in August, players from Steps 1-4 are prevented from betting on any football matches in the world.
“Participants covered by the ban will be prohibited from betting, either directly or indirectly, on any football match or competition that takes place anywhere in the world,” the governing body said at the time.
On Gargan’s ban, the FA added: “Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Whitehawk FC‘s Sam Gargan has been suspended from all football activity, with immediate effect, for three months and fined £300 after he admitted multiple breaches of FA Rule E8 in relation to betting.”
