Win, win, win, win, win. That’s what Forest Green’s form book looks like after five games into the National League season.
Their fine run looks set to continue this weekend when the Gloucestershire side travels to Kidderminster – a team at the opposite end of the spectrum that is yet to find a win this campaign.
Rovers have found the net ten times in the league this season and conceded just once in the process when they allowed Lincoln to score late in last week’s match at The New Lawn.
Kidderminster on the hand other hand are struggling early doors and, barring a win over Braintree at the tail end of last season, haven’t won at home in the league since December 20 last year.
Taking everything into consideration, the price available at Marathonbet for a Rovers win is just too big to resist. We’re backing Forest Green to win at a standout 11/10 as the best bet of the weekend’s National League fixtures.
Elsewhere there’s been a flurry of activity at the foot of the National League North table. Telford, who have so far clocked one point in five games, sacked Steve Kittrick and brought in old boss Rob Smith.
Relegation beckons for Telford unless they can turn the tide soon, starting with Gloucester City tomorrow. The Tigers don’t really have much to write home about either at this early stage of the season and sit in 16th place having failed to win in their past four.
The returning Smith could be just the antidote for Telford this weekend. They can be backed to get off the mark with win against Gloucester at 61/20.
In the National League South, Bath City are making a bold bid for promotion after winning five from five. Like Forest Green Rovers in the National League, The Romans will feel confident of extending their 100% record this weekend at home to Havant and Waterlooville. They’re a very tasty 27/20 to make it six wins from six or 41/5 to win 2-1 – like they’ve done in three of their five wins so far this campaign.
