Brackley Town announce Kevin Wilkin as new manager

FORMER and Nuneaton Town boss Kevin Wilkin has been named the new manager of North side .

Wilkin, who made 74 appearances as a player for Northampton Town, replaces Jon Brady at St James Park.

Former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair had taken temporary charge of the Saints and earned three draws in his three games at the helm.

However, Brackley have decided to turn to Wilkin with the club sitting in 18th. Following eight years at Nuneaton, in which he led the club from Step 4 to ‘s top tier, he earned a move to Wrexham.

He joined the Dragons in March 2014 and took them to in the last season but he was sacked 24 hours after their defeat in the final to United.

A Brackley statement read: “The management board are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Wilkin as first team manager with immediate effect.

“He brings a wealth of managerial expertise from previous challenges and we are confident that he will achieve our short and long term goals.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Frank Sinclair for his professional attitude in managing the team through the interim period of selecting a new manager. We wish him every success for the future.

“We look forward to this new chapter in our history and to exciting times that lay ahead.”
