JIMMY ALBANS and Wayne Hallcro have paid the price for Belper Town‘s poor start to the Evo-Stik NPL Division One South season.
Boss Albans and his assistant Hallcro parted company with the Nailers following Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at struggling Tividale.
It left them 18th in the league following relegation from the Evo-Stik NPL Premier last term. The former Grantham Town joint-bosses joined Belper last season, Albans joining in December before Hallcro’s arrival two months later.
They couldn’t stop the Nailers from Step 3 relegation and chairman Alan Benfield says he expected the club to be fighting for promotion this term.
Benfield said: “It’s a shame that things haven’t worked out for Jim and Wayne but a record of only six wins out of the last 33 games, speaks for itself.
“The board have fully backed them despite relegation at the end of last season and had hoped that we would be challenging for honours this time rather than wallowing in the relegation areas.”
