Boss Darren Freeman leaves Peacehaven for Lewes

DARREN FREEMAN has been named the new manager of Ryman Premier strugglers , moving up from Ryman South .

The former chief took over at Peacehaven in August, replacing Tony Coade, and the club are currently 15th in the league.

However, Freeman has now moved on after being asked to take over from Steve Brown at Lewes, who are second bottom of the Ryman Premier with just one league win all season.

Known for guiding Whitehawk from the Sussex County League to the Conference South, Freeman will be assisted by former Rook, Ross Standen.

“I’m delighted to be the new Lewes manager and look forward to the challenges ahead,” he said.

Lewes chairman Stuart Fuller added: “Darren knows in Sussex better than most and his winning attitude became evident very early in the process.

“His enthusiasm and passion for the role will give us the best chance to climb away from the relegation zone and help us build for the future.”
