Cinderford Town starting to see Moore from star Ethan

ETHAN MOORE says Cinderford are seeing the very best of what he has to offer – and the striker puts that down to his managers.

Moore, who has notched 14 goals in his previous 13 matches, has rediscovered his love for the game at Step 4 after spells at Cheltenham Town and .

South & West table toppers Cinderford have won 15 of their first 21 league games, losing just twice – the latest defeat coming against Evesham last weekend.

The club’s impressive season has been put down to the squad given the time to gel together by manager John Brough and assistant Gerry Oldham.

And Moore, supporters’ player of the year last season, reckons the duo have played a big part in him finding his feelings for again.

The 22-year-old said: “I put my form down to my managers John, who I worked with at Cheltenham Town, and Gerry Oldham, who I worked with at in the .

“They both know how to get the best out of me and I’m playing week in and week out which always helps as a striker. Also I think the fans have made me feel very welcome at the club. That’s a huge thing for any player I promise you.

“I am already into double figures having been out with an injury for eight weeks. I usually target double figures for the season, so really my target is to score consistently from now until the end of the season, something which comes when you’re playing with confidence each week.”

Moore reckons anyone who thinks the title race is just between his Cinderford side and is very much mistaken.

He added: “I think there are actually five or six team who can win the league but of course Winchester are playing well at the moment and scoring lots. Tiverton have only lost twice all season and Evesham last season went on a great run so there are a good number of teams who can win the division, not just us two.

“But I’m very confident for the second half of the season, the team is playing well and spirit in the side is great which is giving us the confidence that we can secure promotion. This is our second season we’ve been together as a squad and I think that shows on the pitch.

“It’s going to be hard to sustain it but it we just have to keep working hard and believing in ourselves. We need the luck along the way but we have learnt to win ugly this season.”
