ALFRETON TOWN have secured the future of Lindon Meikle, signing the winger on a deal until the end of next season.
Former Conference winner Meikle initially joined the Reds on non-contract basis at the start of December following his release from National League side Macclesfield Town.
He has impressed at the Impact Arena during his short stay and scored the winner in the 2-1 Boxing Day victory over Tamworth in the National League North.
And boss Nicky Law has moved quickly to ensure the former Eastwood Town, Mansfield and York man will remain with the Reds, reportedly beating competition from Barrow.
Law said: “I am delighted to have signed Lindon and really pleased he has committed himself to the club. He has been a big part of our recent mini revival and hope he can continue in the same vein.
“He has fitted in well with the lads and I think it’s a very good signing for us. I am also delighted that Wayne (Bradley, chairman) has backed the move.”
The Reds have won their last three matches to move up to 13th in the National League North ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brackley Town.
