Stewart Larter quits as boss of Ryman North side Wroxham

STEWART LARTER has resigned as manager of following Tuesday night’s defeat to King’s Lynn Town reserves in the Norfolk Senior Cup.

Larter had a good record in the competition, having led to success in 2014 and then won it again with Wroxham last season.

The Yachtsmen also finished eighth in the Ryman North last season – their highest ever finish – but this campaign has been much tougher.

The defeat in the Senior Cup followed 15 matches without a win in the league, a run that has left them 20th and just three points above the relegation places.

Director of Chris Wigger will take charge of first team affairs with Wroxham set to welcome bottom side on Saturday.

Wroxham chairman Kevin Attree said: “I have enjoyed working with Stewart since I came into the club as chairman last year. Unfortunately, results this season have not gone our way and the club’s current league position reflects this.

“All at Wroxham FC and myself wish Stewart and his family all the best for the future and thank him for his contribution and efforts with the club.”
