FORMER Gillingham, Dover Athletic and Tonbridge Angels striker Frannie Collin says he’s aiming to win trophies at new club Leatherhead.
The forward, 28, has agreed to join the Tanners on a permanent deal after enjoying a month’s loan spell from National League South side Maidstone United.
The prolific marksman joined Maidstone in August 2013 from Tonbridge and went on to make 122 appearances, scoring over 50 goals.
He has now moved on to a new challenge with Leatherhead, who currently sit 14th in the Ryman Premier and just nine points off the play-offs.
Collin said: “Over the last month I have really enjoyed my time on loan and had no hesitation in going to the club permanently.
“I knew my time with Maidstone wouldn’t last forever and there were no fireworks when it came to agreeing my release from the club.
“Mike (Sandmann, manager) and Steve (Watt, assistant) have been extremely successful in a short period of time since taking over and having started from the bottom, we are now pushing well up the table and looking upwards.
“There is nothing fancy about what they ask from you as a player, just work hard and express yourself is the motto they work by and something I agree with as a player. I’m going into a good changing room right here and I want to give my all to help the club win trophies!”
Boss Sandmann added: “I’m delighted to have Frannie in until the end of next season, he is a proven goal scorer and his record speaks for itself. I think it’s really important to start building for next season and in signing Fran we are certainly doing that.
“I think the supporters have already seen glimpses of Fran’s ability and I know that’s only the start of things to come. I have know Frannie for a long time now and I know he also a great player to have in the dressing room wanting to do his best for the team.
“It’s great for the club to be able to attract these types of players and I know he will be a huge success at Leatherhead.”
