HEDNESFORD TOWN are looking for their fourth manager of the season after they parted company with Frank Sinclair on Tuesday night.
Sinclair’s departure came shortly after the 3-0 loss at Stockport County – a defeat that saw the Pitmen slip to the bottom of the National League North.
The former Colwyn Bay boss only took the reins at Keys Park in mid December, replacing Bernard McNally. McNally had only returned to the club in September following Rob Smith and Larry Chambers’ moves to AFC Telford United.
The Pitmen were 18th when Sinclair arrived but they are now three points adrift of safety after winning just two of his 13 games in charge – both against fellow strugglers AFC Telford.
Chairman Steve Price said: “Following a phone call on Tuesday night manager Frank Sinclair offered his resignation, but also made it clear that he was willing to carry on.
“After a long conversation with Frank we agreed that it was best to go our separate ways.”
Sinclair, talking to Hendesford’s official website, added: “Following discussions with chairman Steve Price after the game against Stockport County, I offered my resignation.
“Obviously I’m very regretful that my time at the club hasn’t worked out as planned as I really felt that I could come in and help move the football club forward.
“I know that there is a squad of players here who are very talented and are capable of being in a better position than where they currently find themselves. I hope whoever comes in can get that out of them in the final ten games of the season.
“What I do know is that the commitment from myself to help this club move forward was there and in the morning I can look myself in the face and say that I gave it 100 per cent.”
