TOOTING & MITCHAM UNITED will have to do without striker Marcel Barrington for three games after he was called up by Guyana for their upcoming Caribbean Cup games.
The 20-year-old striker will miss the Terrors’ Ryman South matches at home to Guernsey and Molesey as well as the trip to Three Bridges.
The former Stoke City and Leicester City youngster had previously spent loan spells with Harrow Borough, Nuneaton Town and Bishop’s Stortford before joining Walton Casuals in November and then Tooting.
Barrington already has one Guyana cap to his name and will add to that if he features in the CFU Caribbean Cup games against Puerto Rico on Tuesday, March 22 or Anguilla a week later.
A Terrors spokesman said: “Tooting & Mitcham United are delighted to announce that our 20-year-old striker Marcel Barrington has been called up by the Guyana Football Federation to the Guyana national squad for two games they are playing later this month.
“If he appears in either of the internationals, he will become the first player to have represented his country at full international level while at Tooting & Mitcham United since Dean Forbes, also for Guyana, back in 2002.”
