WORCESTER CITY have added two attacking players to their squad as they continue to fight against National League North relegation.
City are just four points clear of the bottom three heading into Saturday’s home game against leaders Solihull Moors.
Joint-bosses Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner brought two new forward options into the club before Thursday’s registration deadline, Kyle Perry joining from Hednesford and Alun Webb arriving from Loughborough University.
Centre forward Perry, 30, joins from league rivals Hednesford Town having scored seven times so far this season.
He started his career at Walsall and played in the Football League with Port Vale. He has plenty of Non-League experience with AFC Telford United, Mansfield Town, Tamworth, Lincoln City and Altrincham.
Also arriving at Aggborough is 22-year-old winger Webb, who has been turning out for Loughborough in the Midland League Premier this season.
The former Wales U18 international has also previously played for Rushall Olympic and Grantham Town and joint-manager Heeley said: “Matt Gardiner went to see Loughborough play Hereford recently and was really impressed with Alun’s performance.
“Pace against tired legs in the National League North is a huge weapon, so we decided to sign Alun until the end of the season. Loughborough Uni has been a great avenue of talent and Alun will be most welcome.”
On the addition of Perry, he added: “Kyle is a big, strong forward and the type of player that central defenders hate playing against. He brings players into the game and is a huge threat from set pieces.
“We spoke to Kyle in the summer, but it didn’t work out. We’re delighted to now have him until the end of the season. He will be a huge asset to the squad.”
