LEAGUE titles and promotions will all be done and dusted by the time our National Game Awards come around, but there will still be one prize on the minds of all.
That’s right, the Team of the Year award, sponsored again by Red Insure, has many possible winners and we want your suggestion as to who should take home the gong from Stamford Bridge on May 19.
Champions by Easter after years of agonising play-off heartache, Folkestone Invicta are surely in the running for the prize having already lifted the Ryman South trophy last month and amassed over 100 points.
In the top tier of Non-League, Dover Athletic and Braintree Town have surpassed all expectations with play-off pushes while Cheltenham are looking to follow Bristol Rovers by bouncing straight back into the Football League at the first time of asking.
Solihull Moors have got to be in with a shout too having had a wonderful campaign in National League North. They have proved hard to beat, losing just once on the road.
National League South looks to be going down to the wire with Ebbsfleet, Maidstone and Sutton United all in contention to lift the title.
Bognor Regis Town and Salford City have both maintained play-off pushes even with remarkable cup runs. The Ryman Premier Rocks made it all the way through to the semi-finals of the FA Trophy, and recently ended a run of eight games in 16 days while Salford famously beat Notts County live on television in the FA Cup.
Warrington Town have stormed to the top of Evo-Stik NPL Division One North, and remained there even after the departure of manager Shaun Reid while AFC Sudbury waltzed to the Ryman North title.
At Step 5, Hereford and Salisbury have both shown the spirit and determination to get back to the big time, with the Bulls also reaching the FA Vase final, at the expense of the Wiltshire side.
Morpeth Town will join them at Wembley having beaten Bowers & Pitsea with both teams still in contention to win their leagues too.
These are only suggestions though, so don’t forget to get in touch and let us know who should gain the applause at our bash.
