FORMER Phoenix Sports, East Grinstead Town and Hythe Town boss Tony Beckingham has replaced Kevin Horlock as manager of Chatham Town.
The Chats finished 19th in the Ryman South after Horlock stepped down at the end of April following just over six months in the job to join Needham Market as assistant manager.
Beckingham started the season just gone at East Grinstead Town but left in September to join Hythe Town as joint-boss alongside Clive Cook.
However, he left the Cannons after just five games before the club went on to finish fourth in the Ryman South, losing to promotion winner Worthing in the play-offs.
He is now back in the dugout with the Chats and director of football Steve Binks said: “We are delighted to announce that Tony Beckingham has been appointed as the new first team manager, with Darren Anslow as his assistant.
“Tony and Darren have good management experience at Ryman League level and at Kent League level with Phoenix Sports, now also of the Ryman League.
“Tony also brings with him as members of the management team – George Howard, as goalkeeper coach, current first team player Jon Difford and Ray Tolfrey who will oversee player recruitment.
“Current assistant manager Terry Groom is also staying on combining this role with the physio role as well as assisting Luke Medley with the U21s together with his son Adam Groom and Warren Carver, as he did last season.
“We would all like to express a very warm welcome to the new management team, and wish them every success over the coming seasons.”
