Ex-Leicester City winger Adam Dawson becomes Eastleigh’s fifth signing

boss Chris Todd has made ex-Leicester City winger Adam Dawson his fifth signing of the summer.

The 23-year-old started last season at Harriers and joined rivals Tranmere Rovers on loan in November.

He was released from his contract at Aggborough by mutual consent at the end of February and finished the season at his former club Nuneaton Town.

Dawson reportedly joined Liverpool from hometown club Bury for £100,000 when he was just 14 before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2011.

He left the Latics a year later and following spells in with FC , and , he was signed by Leicester City in 2013.

The winger couldn’t make the breakthrough into the first team with the Foxes and following a number of loan spells – including in 2014-15 with eventual Conference promotion winners Bristol Rovers – he left permanently to join Kiddy.

He will begin next season back in Non-League’s top flight and Eastleigh boss Todd said: “Adam is a direct, pacy winger who is full of flair.

“His ability to create chances for other players is definitely an exciting prospect for the forthcoming season. We’re delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Dawson tweeted: “Happy to sign for  this morning. Fantastic club with great people.”
