FOREST GREEN ROVERS have added strength to their midfield with the additions of former Le Havre pair Drissa Traore and Mohamed Chemlal.
Traore, 24, has signed a two-year deal with Rovers following his release from League One side Swindon Town after making 24 appearances last term.
After being a regular in Le Havre’s B team, Traore progressed into the first team, in the French second tier, before a move to Notts County in September 2014.
Forest Green boss Mark Cooper managed Traore at Swindon and knows all about the Ivory Coast U21 international’s qualities.
Joining Traore at The New Lawn is attacking midfielder Chemlal, who spent last season with Le Havre’s B team.
He scored five times and contributed eight assists as Le Havre won promotion from the fifth tier of French football. He turned down offers from France to move to Gloucestershire on a one-year deal.
The 21-year-old, who played alongside Manchester United’s Anthony Martial in the French junior sides, had a previous spell in England with Stoke City’s U21s before returning to play for Le Havre.
Le Havre, of course, are the former club of Juventus star Paul Pogba, ex-Newcastle, Wigan and Aston Villa midfielder Charles N’Zogbia and Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez.
