DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE boss John Still has made Bognor Regis Town defender Craig Robson his ninth signing of the summer.
Robson had been with the Rocks for the past three seasons and impressed last term as the Ryman Premier club made it to the semi-finals of the FA Trophy.
Prior to signing with Bognor, the 24-year-old had spent two years in Western Australia playing semi-professionally for Sorrento FC after starting his career at Havant & Waterlooville.
He made over 150 appearances for Bognor in defence and midfield but will now be moving up to play in Non-League‘s top tier – signing a two-year deal at Victoria Road – with Still revealing he had been tracking the defender for a while.
The boss told the Daggers’ website: “I’ve known about Craig for some time and I wanted to bring him in earlier but decided it was best for him to continue at Bognor until the end of the season.
“I’ve watched him and had him watched a number of times over the past year and I saw him in their game with Grimsby in the FA Trophy and he looked comfortable against a good side.
“He can play centre-half and central midfield and likes to go forward for set-pieces.”
Robson’s addition follows Tuesday’s signing of midfielder Matt Robinson, who worked under Still at Luton Town. He made 30 appearances in the National League last season on loan at Woking and Grimsby.
