CHORLEY have turned down bids from York City and Tranmere Rovers for last season’s top scorer Darren Stephenson.
The NLP understands the National League duo have both been knocked back in their attempts to sign the 23-year-old, who has put in a transfer request to the Magpies in a bid to further his career in full-time football.
Stephenson scored 18 goals in the National League North last season and it’s thought the National League North club want £40,000.
League Two sides Stevenage and Newport County have also been interested in the former Southport man.
