DARYL MCMAHON has made former York City vice captain Dave Winfield his first Ebbsfleet United signing of the summer.
The central defender, 28, has experience at League One and Two level and was named York’s player of the year last season.
He rejected a new deal with the Minstermen after their relegation into the National League following 51 appearances in two years at Bootham Crescent.
The Aldershot-born man won the Conference with his hometown club before making his Football League debut in 2009.
He joined Wycombe a year later for £25,000 and was part of the side that won automatic promotion to League One, remaining in the third tier following a move to Shrewsbury in 2013.
The centre-half rejected the offer of a new contract from York boss Jackie McNamara and has returned south to sign for National League South outfit Ebbsfleet.
He will be expected to replace fellow defender Tom Bonner who departed Fleet to join Kent rivals Dartford.
