Stourbridge youth team boss Dave King takes over at relegated Tividale

believe new manager Dave King is the perfect fit as they look towards a more youthful approach.

The West Midlands club are back in the Premier after two seasons at Step 4, winning just five of their 42 league games last season.

The resignation of boss Phil Male – who took sole control in December following joint-manager Ross Thorpe’s departure – soon followed and King will now take the reins.

A former boss of , King has spent the last eight years as youth team manager of , enjoying plenty of success.

He has helped Kieran Morris and Jordan Murphy make the move into the League and the Glassboys have enjoyed three memorable runs in the FA Youth Cup.

Tividale’s football general manager Leon Murray said: “We would like to thank the many applicants for the position, which reflects well on the club. But after creating a shortlist and interviewing some very strong candidates we felt that as soon as we spoke to Dave he went to the top of the list.

“It has been no secret that we want to consolidate at this level and build for the future by developing youngsters and we feel that Dave is a perfect fit.

“We spoke to Stourbridge chairman Andy Pountney and vice-chairman Andy Bullingham and we received excellent feedback about Dave not only as a manager, but also as an individual and they allowed him to speak to us with their blessing.”
