PAUL CARDEN will once again team up with Gary Brabin after he was named the new assistant manager at Tranmere Rovers.
Carden has previously worked under Brabin at Cambridge United and Luton Town and served as his assistant at Southport.
The 37-year-old replaced Brabin as manager of the Sandgrounders after he left for a coaching role at Premier League outfit Everton in January 2015.
Carden kept the club in the National League at the end of that season but he left Haig Avenue by mutual consent in November of last year after a 4-0 home defeat to Cheltenham Town left them 22nd and five points from safety.
He will be back in the dugout, however, with Tranmere after agreeing to become Brabin’s assistant at Prenton Park, replacing James Quinn who has opted to pursue his career abroad.
Boss Brabin told the club’s website: “I’m delighted to bring Paul to Tranmere. He’s an excellent coach and someone who will work well with the players we’ve got at the club.
“I know him well and he’s someone who will be very vocal and won’t be afraid to voice his opinion on the training ground and on matchdays.
“I’d like to wish James the best of luck and thank him for all his hard work last season.”
