STRIKER Kyle Perry has hit out at Worcester City, saying he has been “bombed” out of the club just days before the start of the National League North season.
The big target man signed for City in March from Hednesford Town and scored once in eight games at the end of last season.
He revealed he signed a deal with Worcester in May for the upcoming campaign but he will not be starting the season in Carl Heeley’s side.
A former AFC Telford United, Port Vale, Mansfield Town, Tamworth, Lincoln City, Nuneaton Town and Altrincham forward, the 30-year-old has been left searching for a new club just four days before the big kick off.
Heeley said two weeks ago that his squad was “nowhere near strong enough” but he has also left midfielder Sean Geddes, who only re-signed for the club two months ago, leave.
The boss has, however, added former Aston Villa and Hartlepool United midfielder Ebby Nelson-Addy following a successful trial.
And today, Heeley also confirmed the signings of pacy right winger Nathan Olukanmi, striker Colby Bishop and left-back Cieron Keane.
On social media, Perry said: “It seems my season at Worcester has finished before it has even started! Agreeing a contract in May and then bombed four days before the start of the season is a new one and not cool! But “That’s Football” as the numpties say.”
A Worcester club statement read: “Centre forward Kyle Perry has been released from Worcester City FC.
“Kyle Perry has been informed by manager Carl Heeley that he will not be part of the plans for the upcoming season. The reasons for this have been explained to Kyle.
“We would like to wish Kyle the best of luck in his future career and thank him for his efforts as a Worcester City player in his short spell with us.”
