SUTTON UNITED will take on another famous FA Cup name in Wimbledon after the third round draw was made on Monday night.
The National League U’s, who beat Cheltenham Town on Saturday, will host the Dons in the pick of the games featuring Non-League sides.
Sutton are famously known, of course, for knocking our former winners Coventry City in 1989, a year after Wimbledon beat Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
Elsewhere, Lincoln City face a difficult trip to Championship club Ipswich Town after defeating Oldham Athletic on Monday night thanks to a Theo Robinson double.
Barrow, who beat Bristol Rovers in the second round, have been rewarded with a home tie against Rochdale while Macclesfield will travel to Rotherham, if they can get past their replay with Oxford United.
Championship outfit Brentford will definitely be hosting a Non-League side with the winners of the FC Halifax Town and Eastleigh replay travelling to London.
Stourbridge‘s second round tie against Northampton on Sunday was beaten by a frozen pitch and if they can get past the Cobblers, they face a trip to League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.
All third round ties are scheduled for Saturday, January 7 with winners picking up £67,500 from the FA’s prize fund.
