Truro City to remain at Treyew Road “until further notice” despite securing Bodmin Town groundshare

have confirmed they will be able to remain at their Treyew Road home “until further notice” despite agreeing a groundshare at .

The White Tigers were hoping to move into a new £6.2m stadium at Silver Bow but those plans were dealt a huge blow after the developers claimed it was “no longer financially viable”.

With Truro told they had to leave Treyew Road at the end of the season, they were left searching for an alternative home for next term.

They announced late last week that they had agreed to share at Bodmin Town, who play in the , although it’s expected their Priory Park ground would require work to get it up to Grade B standard required at Step 2.

That may not be needed, however, after the side confirmed they are being allowed to remain at Treyew Road.

The ground’s owners want to turn the stadium into a retail shopping park, and could do so at any time, but Truro are hoping that won’t be happening for some time.

A club statement read: “After a frustrating and challenging few days, we are pleased to confirm that can continue to play its matches at Treyew Road until further notice.

“This does not stop JIL (the land owner) serving notice and/or commencing proceedings for vacant possession of the ground.

“If JIL were to be successful and Truro City FC evicted, we will apply to The for approval to groundshare with Bodmin Town under NL Rule 2.3.1.

“We await the results of The National League Ground Grading inspection on April 3rd at Bodmin Town to confirm that Bodmin is a viable alternative.

“On the pitch the task rests with manager, Lee Hodges, to secure our current league status and to build a team for next season capable of taking us to the very top of the National League South.”
