Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Stowmarket Town sealed a surprise move for former Newcastle United and Ipswich Town defender Titus Bramble.
The 36-year-old joins the newly-promoted Suffolk outfit on a one-year deal where he will assist manager Rick Andrews both on and off the pitch in a player-coach role.
The veteran centre-back was playing Premier League football for Sunderland a mere four years ago until his release by the Black Cats, and has since run into difficulties finding a club to finish his career at.
Bramble could make his league debut for Town against Felixstowe & Walton on Saturday, with the club buoyed by their title-winning season in the Eastern Counties League Division One – now known as the Thurlow Nunn League.
All in all, the Ipswich-born defender has made 373 appearances for Premier League and Championship sides, enjoying the best moments of his career at Newcastle United after being signed from the Tractor Boys by Sir Bobby Robson.
