York boss Martin Gray brings in left-back David Ferguson

‘s new manager Martin Gray has quickly begun his rebuild with the Minstermen, bringing in left-back David Ferguson from former club .
The 23-year-old has signed a deal until the end of the 2018-19 season, after York agreed to pay a release clause in the North East native’s Quakers contract.
Ferguson emerged from the Darlington academy, before joining Sunderland in 2012. He moved on to Blackpool in 2015, where he made 42 appearances for the Seasiders.
He’s since dropped down to , representing Shildon before re-joining Darlington in January of this year.
York manager Gray, who also moved from Darlington this week, was delighted to bring Ferguson to the club: “I know what David is all about and he knows what I’m about,” he told the club’s official website.
“He is a left-sided player and the captain of the side. He was fantastic last season and has been doing well this season – I am sure he will be a good asset to the club.”
And the new York boss is eager to bring in further additions, saying: “We are looking, we are working hard, but we have got to make sure that the players we bring in are going to strengthen the squad.
“We are constantly on the phones and we are trying to do more business.”
