Manager of the Month
Craig Harrison – Hartlepool United
It was a difficult start to life in the Vanarama National League for Hartlepool United. Following relegation for the Monkey Hangers, pressure grew on new manager Craig Harrison to restore the fortunes of all connected with them.
After a tough start, the Pools have found their feet in the fifth tier. Harrison’s men moved six places up the Vanarama National League table during October, with sights now firmly set on catching the top seven.
The division is proving to be difficult to call and- with just six points separating the top twelve clubs- Craig must be very pleased with Hartlepool’s progress after three months in charge.
Player of the Month
Josh Rees – Bromley
A number of candidates came into the reckoning for October in the Vanarama National League but pride of place goes to Josh Rees. The midfielder not only has caught the eye of his team mates, supporters and opposition, but also the eye of the management of England C too.
Besides crucial goals helping The Ravens into the play-off positions, the 24-year-old has clearly repaid his club in what they saw in him, since his summer move from Chelmsford City, where he was thought very highly of.
A midfielder with the basics of good play honed at Arsenal and Nottingham Forest could prove to be a major link in the ambitions of the club going forward.
