IT MIGHT be the biggest day in Haringey Borough‘s history, but new Leyton Orient boss Justin Edinburgh isn’t underestimating the importance of the FA Trophy to the O’s either.
The National League side have been drawn against Step 4 Boro for their first ever game in Non-League‘s premier cup competition.
Edinburgh was in charge of Newport County when they reached the final in 2012 and lost to rivals Wrexham.
But he says the Wembley trip laid the foundations for their promotion the following season – and he’s looking forward to making the trip to a Haringey ready to soak up their big day.
“That’s what the FA Trophy is all about,” Edinburgh said. “That was massive for me and what we did at Newport. In our first season when we avoided relegation we got to the final. That helped us increase the budget for the following season and gave us a taste.
“It helped lay what happened the following season and going back to Wembley and winning. It’s a fantastic trophy and one we will be taking very seriously.”
