Midfielder Tollitt handed boss Micky Mellon a devastating injury blow last February when limping off during a game against .
After a seven-month lay-off, he returned to face in October, but failed to see the game out as a recurrence set him back a further three months.
Tollitt, however, has been hard at work in the gym and, along with team-mate James Wallace, came through an hour of a behind-closed-doors friendly against Bury in midweek.
“I feel good, better than the last time I came back,” the former Everton scholar said. “I have no pain in my body at all anymore, I feel sharp in training and I feel great! I am just itching to get back out there.”

Thriving

“Last time I took a bit longer to get back into the swing of things, but this time I feel a lot better, I have fitted straight back in. I don’t even think I am behind in training. It is great when my team-mates come up to me and say that I am looking strong, it just gives me that confidence.”
Tollitt returns to a side that has forced its way back into promotion contention in the thanks to seven wins from their last 10 matches ahead of yesterday’s visit of Ebbsfleet United.
“The goal this season has always been to win the league and the way the team have been playing, we are catching up those at the top after having a slow start.” Tollitt added.
“They will all be looking over their shoulder because they know we are hitting form.
“I would rather come into a side which is winning than on a tough run, which is good really because that is exactly what it is.”
That’s just as well really as Tollitt must now force his way back into a Rovers side which is currently thriving through the form of goalscoring pair Andy Cook and James Norwood, plus flying winger Josh Ginnelly, on loan from Premier League Burnley.
“I always give 100 per cent, even when there is not so much competition for places, but now there is it will make me and the others try harder because everyone wants to play.” Tollitt concluded.
“I am not one who does not want to do extra in training; I’m always up for it, I will play as much to my best as I possibly can.”
