It’s the final week of the National League season with plenty of promotion, play off and relegation matters still to be decided. Will there be tears of joy or despair for your team this weekend?
Our friends at Marathonbet are back again with a look at where the drama might lie in what promises to be a riveting day of drama across the country…
National League
With Macclesfield securing the title last week, the main issue to be settled on the final weekend of the National League season is at the other end of the table as Barrow slug it out for survival with Woking.
Both relegation-threatened sides will be relieved to be finishing the season with home advantage, but it’s The Bluebirds who look to have the more favourable fixture up against already relegated Chester FC.
The Cheshire outfit have lost six of their last seven games, and with Ady Pennock’s men showing steady signs of improvement in recent weeks, it could be relief all round in the home dugout when the final whistle blows on Saturday in Cumbria. Barrow don’t score many but should have enough to edge out the narrow win they need.
Back Barrow to win 1-0 against Chester at 59/10 with Marathonbet.
The race for the play offs still hasn’t quite been settled, with several teams still in the shootout to snatch the remaining unclaimed play-off spots.
Bromley are one of the teams still firmly in the hunt but know only a win will do as they head to Berkshire. They face a last day showdown away to form team Maidenhead as they bid to keep their season alive.
The Magpies have nothing to play for but Alan Devonshire’s men have excelled with the pressure off in recent weeks and could thwart any lingering dreams of promotion for Bromley.
Back Maidenhead Utd to draw 1-1 against Bromley at 11/2 with Marathonbet.
National League North
Mark Bower’s Bradford Park Avenue side remain in a tight battle to secure the last remaining play off slot in National League North but face a tricky trip to Kidderminster Harriers if they want to seal the deal, with nearest rivals Spennymoor looking as if they have the kinder final day at home to Southport.
Bradford will be buoyed by the fact Kiddy’s stranglehold on fourth position in the table is now fixed regardless of Saturday’s results, so the Yorkshire outfit have far more incentive to go out all guns blazing from the start at Aggborough.
Back Bradford Park Avenue to beat Kidderminster Harriers at 33/20 with Marathonbet.
National League South
Sun, sand, sea air, and the National League South trophy to boot? Dartford fans will certainly be hoping for a weekend to remember in Bognor Regis as they look to seal a return to the Conference National for the first time since 2014-15.
The Darts could not have hoped for a better final day fixture against a Bognor side cut adrift at the bottom of the table. With eight wins in a row in the league, the Darts should be in confident mood but Havant & Waterlooville‘s 6-1 win over East Thurrock has put a whole new complexion on this game with the Hawks leapfrogging the Darts at the top of the table ahead of the final round of fixtures.
Tony Burman’s side will need the goals to flow to put the pressure on with Hawks now firmly in the box seat.
Back over 3.5 goals in Bognor Regis v Dartford FC at 67/50 with Marathonbet.
