Tony Burman leaves Dartford after 14 years in charge

Dartford have announced that manager Tony Burman has left the club after they were knocked out of the play-offs last week.
The manager, who has been in charge at Princes Park for the last 14 years, will depart along with coaches Paul Sawyer and Steve Mosely.
Before becoming manager, Burman was a long serving player for the Kent club, making over 500 appearances during an eight year playing spell with the Darts.
In a statement on the club’s website, Burman told fans: “I feel the time is right for us as a management team, to step aside and allow fresh blood to come in and take forward this great club. I would like to thank my fellow directors, the supporters and volunteers, plus the many players I have managed over the years, for their support and commitment.
“The last 10 years, here at Princes Park, have been one of the most successful periods in the club’s history and I have been immensely proud of our achievements. The winning of the , Division One (North) and Premier Division, plus the Conference South Promotion Final and 2 Kent Senior Cup Finals, have all been achieved in this period – success indeed.”
Burman has helped guide the Darts through much of the pyramid and came close to achieving promotion from the South this season. His side were locked in a tantalizing battle for the title with Havant & Waterloo and came within a matter of minutes of finishing the season at the summit of the table.
Burman’s final game in charge was a 1-0 loss to in the play-off semi-finals on Sunday.
