Following their relegation form the National League last season, Guiseley have continued to lay the foundations for an immediate return to Step One by signing experienced defender Scott Garner from Halifax Town.
The 28-year-old has experience in helping sides into the National League having been part of the Halifax team which gained promotion two seasons ago.
Garner came through the youth ranks at Leicester City but was only able to make two first team appearances for the Foxes before playing for a range of clubs including, Mansfield Town, Grimsby Town, Cambridge United and Lincoln City..
Guiseley suffered relegation from the National League this season after enduring a torrid campaign on the pitch. The club from West Yorkshire finished the season at the foot of the table after accumulating just 33 points, winning only seven games in the process.
However, new managers Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neil will hoping to inspire a turnaround in fortunes at Nethermoor Park next season.
