Woking boss Alan Dowson has raided his former club Hampton & Richmond to sign left-back Josh Casey.
The 26-year-old links up with Dowson for a third time having also played under the former defender at Kingstonian.
Casey joined Hampton & Richmond in July 2015 and played a key role in the club’s march to the National League South in his first season at the Beveree Stadium.
The left-back continued to be a mainstay in the Hampton defense and made 55 first-team appearances last season, more than any other player.
Speaking to Woking‘s official club website, Dowson expressed his delight at the signing of Casey.
The Cards’ boss said, “I’ve signed him for three different clubs, which shows how much I rate him. I think we’ve just signed the best left back in the league and the best man for the job at the football club. I’m delighted to get him, he was my number one target.
I would like to place on record my thanks to the Board for backing Casey’s signing and also Andy Laithwaite & John Moynihan for financially supporting the transfer.”
