National League club Barrow have strengthened their squad with the signing of former Tranmere Rovers captain Steve Jennings.
The 33-year-old defender made over 200 appearances for Rovers during three distinguished spells with the club.
Jennings began his career with Tranmere, where he played 140 times over a seven year period before moving north of the border to join SPL side Motherwell.
After three seasons in Scotland, the defender returned to England with League One side Coventry City before embarking on a second stint with Tranmere in 2013.
After spending a season with Port Vale, Jennings then returned for a final spell with Tranmere in where he captained the club for two campaigns in the National League before joining Southport last summer.
