On the eve of the new season, South Shields have added two new bodies to their side with the signings of goalkeeper Brendan Pearson and midfielder Ursene Mouanda.
Pearson arrives at Mariners Park after having left Newcastle United during the summer.
The 20-year-old shot stopper kept a clean sheet in South Shields’ 0-0 draw with Tadcaster Albion in a pre-season friendly two weeks ago.
Pearson signed his first professional contract with the Magpies in 2016 and played for the club up to Under-23s level before injuries hampered his progress.
Meanwhile, Mouanda has signed after receiving official international clearance today.
The Ivorian has had a distinguished career to date having previously represented SPL sides Rangers and Kilmarnock.
