Grantham Town have announced that Richard Thomas has been appointed as the club’s new manager with immediate effect.
The former Leyton Orient academy manager will take charge of his first game tomorrow night at Matlock Town.
Ian Culverhouse resigned as Grantham’s boss last week due to personal reasons.
Thomas, who lives in Nottingham, was most recently assistant manager to Kevin Nolan at Notts County where they reached last season’s League Two play-offs.
However, they were sacked at the start of this season following a six-game winless run.
As part of Thomas’ arrival, Dennis Rhule has been promoted to the position of assistant manager.
Rhule is a familiar face to all Gingerbreads having served under numerous managers over the years, including being part of the managerial team that won the Evo-Stik Premier Division One South in 2012 and being an integral part of last season’s run to the play-off final.
