National League midweek round-up: Salford City close the gap on leaders Leyton Orient

Salford City cut Leyton Orient‘s lead at the top of the National League to one point last night.
The Ammies twice fell behind at home to Harrogate Town but two strikes from Rory Gaffney either side of half-time gave Gary Alexander’s team a priceless 3-2 win.
Meanwhile, leaders Orient were held to a stalemate by Aldershot Town at Brisbane Road. For only the third time this season the O’s failed to find a net with struggling Shots delighted to take home a point.
Sam Ricketts’ title-challenging Wrexham also had a frustrating night drawing 0-0 at Barrow but there was a better result for AFC Fylde, who won 2-1 at Hartlepool. Pools have now lost their last six league games.
Resurgent Dagenham & Redbridge claimed their fifth league win in six matches beating Havant & Waterlooville 3-1, who themselves had been on a mini revival.
Paul McCallum’s brace helped Eastleigh to a 3-1 win at Maidstone. The Stones are two points adrift of safety and will be hoping Blair Turgott’s knee injury which forced him off in the first half is not serious.
