Watson eyes trip to the Nou Camp!

By Jon Couch
If preparation is key, as they say, then boss Liam Watson would have every reason to be knocking on the owners’ office door this week.
Watson’s side have been handed a dream third round home tie with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur on January 5 if they can put paid to Merseyside rivals Tranmere Rovers in next Monday’s replay.
“Spurs are playing at Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, I think that must be worth a trip to the Nou Camp for a scouting mission,” joked the Sandgrounders boss.
“Sadly, though, I don’t think the owners will see it that way.”
Watson can’t really moan, however, about missing out on some winter sunshine – he was away on a mini break to Dubai when the dream draw was made at Bridge on Monday night.
“The owners went down to attend the draw along with captain David Morgan,” the Port boss explained.
“I flew out to Dubai straight after the Tranmere game but was waiting nervously by my phone for any news. The next thing I know everything’s gone hysterical on the WhatsApp group. It was madness!”
