National League Boxing Day round-up

Dagenham and continued their impressive form on Boxing Day by beating National League leaders .
Peter Taylor’s side are unbeaten in seven and have lost just once in their last ten matches to see them up to 13th.
After winning at title-chasing Salford before Christmas, they followed that result up by beating Justin Edinburgh’s side thanks to two late goals from Alexander McQueen and Ben Nunn after Josh Koroma put the O’s ahead.
However, Orient remain three points clear at the top after  thumped Salford 5-1 to leapfrog them into second.
Shaun Pearson began the rout after just three minutes with a towering header before Akil Wright and Bradley Walker scored one each before half-time.
On his debut on loan from Tranmere, winger Ben Tollitt added a fourth in the second half as Tom Walker was sent off for the visitors with minutes remaining. There was still time for Chris Holroyd to grab a fifth before Danny Whitehead netted a consolation for Salford.
Elsewhere, Solihull Moors kept up their promotion push by thumping 4-0 on their own turf which has seen them slip to third from bottom and also resulted in Martin Allen’s sacking.
Dover Athletic climbed out of the bottom four by beating relegation rivals Maidstone United 3-1 having fallen behind in the first-half. A thrilling 4-3 win for Maidenhead United over Aldershot Town wasn’t enough for Alan Devonshire’s side to move them above the relegation line, but the Shots are now only two points above the drop.
Luke Armstrong netted a brace for Gateshead to keep their play-off push on track and see off Hartlepool United as did Sutton United, who edged out Bromley by Jamie Collins’ solitary goal.
A late Dayle Southwell goal inflicted just a second home defeat on Harrogate Town as FC Halifax came from a goal down to win 2-1.
Eastleigh let slip a two-goal lead in the M27 Derby at Havant and Waterlooville. Paul McCallum scored twice for the visitors, but Andreas Robinson and Dan Strugnell pegged them back in the last ten minutes.
Braintree Town  remain rock bottom of the division following a 4-2 defeat at Ebbsfleet United while Bradley Ash’s goal two minutes from time gave  the win over BarnetAFC were held to a 1-1 draw at .
In National League South, Torquay United remain top after beating  4-2, but  are keeping up the chase following their 3-1 win over Hampton and Richmond.
Troubled Billericay Town have now slipped to fifth after suffering another heavy defeat, this time going down 5-1 at local rivals Chelmsford City.
Bradford Park Avenue remain top of National League North following a 5-1 win at  with Chorley three points behind them, who won 4-1 at FC United of Manchester.
