Under the guidance of Gary Hill, Ebbsfleet have enjoyed something of a resurgence in recent months, falling to just one league defeat since the middle of October.
The Fleet’s rapidly emerging play-off challenge was given an important helping hand by the performances of striker Michael Cheek during the month of December.
The 27-year-old helped his side to four wins including a 3-0 triumph over fellow promotion-chasers AFC Fylde, in which he claimed a goal the man-of-the-match award.
Another goal against Aldershot Town, along with wins against Braintree Town and Barnet saw Cheek’s efforts earn him the National League‘s player of the month accolade.
Ebbsfleet, who face table toppers Leyton Orient at the weekend, are now just three points adrift of the play-off positions.
