Solihull Moors sign former Cheltenham Town and Tranmere Rovers defender Lee Vaughan

Tim Flowers has strengthened his promotion-chasing side with the addition of experienced defender Lee Vaughan.
The right-back has joined from North side until June 2020.
Solihull have been the surprise package in the National League after avoiding the drop last season and now find themselves in second, two points behind leaders .
And boss Flowers has been given the backing by the club’s board to continue their promotion assault, capturing 30-year-old Vaughan to sure up their backline.
Born in Castle Bromwich, he was a trainee at both Blues and Portsmouth before joining Walsall in 2005 but subsequently moved to AFC Telford a year later.
He made 179 appearances for the Bucks before joining for the first time in 2010 where he amassed another 157 games and made an appearance in the squad.
A season with Cheltenham followed before he moved north to feature strongly in Tranmere Rovers’ push to regain their League status, but his season ended when he sustained a broken leg. He has been regular starter in Kidderminster’s team this campaign.
Vaughan told the club’s website: “It’s good to finally get it all done and hopefully I can get on with playing football.
“It’s a club I’ve always looked out for being local. For me, at the moment, it’s the right time and the club’s only going in one direction.”
Flowers added: “He gives us a different type of option at right back. I’ve known Lee for quite a long time and Gary Whild’s probably known him even longer than I have.
“I’ve always thought that he is a Football League player and he has been. He brings a very attacking threat from right back or right wing-back.
“He’s another experienced player who’s been promoted out of this division, he’s a winner and he’s got an edge to him – in a good way.
“We’re delighted to have him around and on board for the next 18 months.”
Sporting Director Mark Fogarty commented: “We are delighted to have been able to sign Lee who is well-known to our staff and some of our players.
“Vaughany is vastly experienced and is known as a dynamic player who can play either in the full back role or as a wing back.
“He will add competition to our squad and hopefully be a vital cog towards success in what has so far been an outstanding season.”
Solihull take on promotion rivals Ebbsfleet this weekend.
