National League North title race to take another turn

Stockport County have the opportunity to move level on points with long term leaders this evening.
Jim Gannon’s side edged closer to Chorley with a narrow win over AFC Telford on Saturday and could even overtake their title rivals tonight if they beat by more than five goals.
It marks a remarkable turnaround for County, who have embarked on a truly phenomenal run in recent weeks, which has seen them win 11 of their past 13 league games and not fall to a defeat in their last 16 matches.
Gannon’s team will come up against a Southport side, who are themselves on a decent run of form.
The Sandgrounders did Stockport a massive favor  beating Chorley two weeks ago and have moved themselves comfortably away from relegation trouble in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, third placed Spennymoor also have an eye on the summit of the table, with the Moors sitting seven points behind the increasingly embattled leaders, with two games in hand.
Spennymoor comfortably eased passed a seemingly doomed Nuneaton side at the weekend but will face a far sterner test tonight at .
The Robins are sitting just outside the play-off positions but have been on a rather indifferent run of form since the turn of the year, winning three times, drawing once and falling to defeat on three occasions.
