Omar Holness has become the latest player to move from the United States to Non-League after completing a transfer to National League North side Darlington.
The 25-year-old Jamaican born midfielder came through the youth set up at Portland Timbers before moving to Real Salt Lake, where he made 16 Major League Soccer appearances for the Claret and Cobalt.
After leaving the Utah side in 2017, Holness enjoyed a short sting with Bethlehem Steel in the USL before seeking a move to Europe.
The midfielder, who has been capped on two occasions by the Jamaican national team, had recently had a trial spell with League Two side Oldham Athletic but had not opted to sign a deal at Blackwell Meadows.
Speaking about the new signing, Darlington manager Tommy Wright said; “Omar has got a winning mentality, and is the kind of character that we need in the dressing room.”
