The implications of North Ferriby’s liquidation on the Nothern Premier League table

The Northern Premier League‘s decision to expunge the playing record of the now liquidated North Ferriby United has led to a number of changes in the league table. 
Arguably the biggest beneficiaries are South Shields, who have had their shock 3-0 defeat against the Villagers earlier on in the season chalked off, while their fellow title rivals Farsley Celtic and Warrington Town have both seen six points removed from their tally.
Celtic still occupy top spot but their four-point lead over South Shields has now been cut to just a point, with their goal difference now worse than the Mariners. Warring remain four points behind the leaders although have slipped to third and are now three points behind South Shields.
Elsewhere, Gainsborough Trinity have slipped into sixth place and below a Buxton side, who have only lost one point due to Ferriby’s liquidation.
At the bottom of the table, Grantham have moved up to 17th position and are now eight points clear of the drop zone, while Workington and Mickleover Sports now find themselves on course for relegation as things stand.
